The Go-Giver is a simple yet powerful story about how Joe, a young and ambitious gentleman learns about the secrets to Stratospheric success.

I am applying the reading technique that I have learnt from my mentor by crafting questions from the contents page, looking for the answers in the book and writing them in my own words.

This will be a common sequence that you will find in every book that I share on my website.

The idea is to help you, the potential reader, accelerate your learning from the book and for me to draw distinctions from what I have read.

Ultimately, you will still want to pick up the book from the library or get a copy online to draw further insights.

Questions & Answers

Here’s the list of questions that I crafted from the Contents page and the respective answers that I got from the book.

GIVING is the secret to success.

My true worth is determined by how much more I give in value than I take in payment.

It’s about doing the little things well and appreciating people.

It determines my value and earning potential.

People will do business with and refer business to those people they know, like and trust.

My income is determined by how many people I serve and how well I serve them.

It’s about creating a positive impact with a vision and focusing on it to serve more people.

Love what I do or learn to love it.

My influence is determined by how abundantly I place other people’s interest first.

Develop an army of personal walking ambassadors by stop keeping scores with people.

The most valuable gift I have to offer is me.

Being my authentic self.

By knowing how to be a friend, how to care and how to make people feel good about themselves.

Success is 10% technical skills and 90% people skills.

The key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving.

Every giving can only happen because it is also a receiving.

Other key insights

Success is the result of specific habits:

1. Creating value

2. Touching people’s lives

3. Putting other’s interests first

4. Being real

5. Having the humility to stay open to receive

A giving person is one who gives:

Thoughts + Attention + Care + Focus + Time + Energy = Value to People

And not one who just gives money to charity which I was led to believe. 😊

Application

Make giving a way of life.

Reaching out and meeting people to share the value that I have or the business may make me feel foolish or look foolish, but I do it anyway since my vision is to globally inspire people to lead optimal lives is important to me.

Don’t keep scores with anybody and focus on other’s interest first.

Be very open about myself and just be myself instead of trying to be others.

Be open to receive from people in various forms such as help, a treat, etc.

Who is this book for

Anyone who wants to enjoy greater success in various aspects of their lives.
